Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions

A license holding company is a real estate brokerage built for brokers who want to keep their license active without running a traditional sales business. You stay actively licensed under a sponsoring broker, but you’re typically only doing referrals. It’s meant to keep overhead low when you’re not listing and closing regularly.

To join our brokerage, complete our application to join (it takes about 5 minutes), submit your payment electronically as part of the process, and we will guide you through the license transfer.

The fee to join our holding company as a referral agent is $95 a year, one of the cheapest in the industry. Membership renews on your anniversary date annually.

Referrals are submitted electronically through our referral submission form. We have put together an article to guide you through the process.

Yes, you can refer to any broker of your choosing, including those from out of state as allowed by state statute. We have not found any jurisdictions where a referral is not allowed to this point.

Yes, as long as you have a state license most states will let you keep it active as long as you are with an in-state broker.

Referrals are paid through direct deposit after the referral fee check is received and cleared. You will provide your W9 and direct deposit information electronically through a link provided at the time of referral. More information on the process can be found in our state policy manuals linked below.

Yes, you are still considered an active real estate agent and will need to complete the CE required by your state in order to keep your license active.

No. As a referral only agent with our company you are only allowed to refer real estate transactions to other agents of your choosing. This also includes any personal or family property.

As a referral only broker you will not have access to any local MLS. Typically they require you to join as a Realtor® member and we have chosen not to belong to the NAR®.

When joining our brokerage you are no longer a member of the NAR® or any local associations and will not have to pay any dues.

If you decide to go back to active real estate, you can switch back to a traditional brokerage at any time. Just let us know you are leaving and transfer your license to your new brokerage. Your annual subscription stays active and you can transfer back any time before it expires without paying an additional fee other than any state transfer fees.

To cancel your subscription, you can notify us via email or use the “manage subscription” link at the bottom of this page to cancel in your payment portal. We will keep your subscription active until your renewal date and cancel any future renewals.

We have copies of our most current policy manuals available online. Click “Policy Manuals” at the bottom of the page select your applicable state.
